Description

During the First World War women were employed in jobs left vacant by men fighting on the front. This photograph was taken for J Lyons and Company who purchased Cadby Hall in Hammersmith, a former piano showroom and associated manufacturing buildings, in 1894. They occupied the site until the 1980s producing a wide range of foodstuffs.
