The Bedford Lemere daybook records that this photograph was taken for the owners of the ship, Canadian Pacific Ocean Services. The SS Grampian was built in 1907 by Stephen and Sons Limited of Glasgow. In 1921, the year after this photograph was taken, the Grampian was gutted by fire whilst undergoing a refit in Antwerp and was subsequently sold for scrap in 1925.
