Witley Court was built in about 1610-20 and was altered and extended in the late 17th to early 18th century. Between 1854-60 it was transformed into a Italianate style building by architect Samuel Whitfield Daukes for the first Earl of Dudley. In 1937, the house was gutted by fire.
