Description

The photograph was commissioned by Howard and Sons Limited, upholsterers and decorators, who were likely to have carried out some work on the interior of the property. Ruddington Grange at this time was home to the Birkin family. Sir Thomas Birkin owned the famous Birkin Lace Company, and his sons Archie and Tim Birkin were both renowned motorcycle and motorcar racers, respectively. The mansion at Ruddington Grange was demolished at some point soon after the 1930s.
