The photograph is part of a set commissioned by Morison & Co, cabinet makers & upholsterers, who created the interior of this Pullman car. The carriage was built by Metropolitan Carriage, Wagon and Finance Company of Birmingham for Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, operators of railway sleepers and dining cars in Europe, including the Orient Express. The carriage was photographed in Harwich, prior to transportation to the Continent.
