Occupying a house built in 1901-2, formerly known as Braymead, the hotel was established in 1927-8 by the same company that ran the Cafe de Paris in London with bands and cabaret stars from the Cafe de Paris entertaining the hotels guests. Later demolished, the site was redeveloped as a housing estate known as Braybank. The photograph is part of a set taken for George Trollope & Sons, builders, decorators and furnishers.
