The Laconia was built in 1921 for Cunard Steamship Company Ltd. The maiden voyage was 25th May 1922 travelling between England and New York with a capacity to carry over 2000 passengers. She was torpedoed and sunk in the Second World War while operating as a troopship. The photograph is part of a set taken for Cunard Steamship Company Ltd., whilst she was berthed at Liverpool.
