Description

These seven blocks of flats, built in the late 19th century after slum clearance, were described at the time as 'model dwellings'. However, by 1965, tenants were complaining about the living conditions and the flats were then purchased by the GLC and demolished soon after. The site and Manisty Street now lie under Robin Hood Gardens. This photograph was taken for Stiles & Company, estate agents.
