Description

The County Hall was built in 1935-1939. A competition for the building's design was won by James and Bywaters and Rowland Pierce with the design shown in this photograph. The firm also had success in competitions for the designs of Norwich City Hall and Slough Town Hall. The background has been removed from the Red Box print of this photograph. The same design is also shown in CC47/00658-CC47/00664.
