Description

In 1935 Romford Urban District Council announced a competition for the design of new Municipal Offices and Assembly Hall. First and second prizes were awarded to Herbert R Collins and Antoine Englebert O Geens, and third prize was awarded to James Wallace. The new offices, designed by Collins and Geens, were officially opened in 1937. The Assembly Hall was never built. The same design is shown in CC47/00717-CC47/00719.
