Description

The church was built in 1936 by D F Martin Smith, and consits of a concrete frame clad in brick, and flat concrete roofs. The east end of the church has a three light window and houses the sanctuary, which has cream stone-effect floor and a blue and gold mosaic panel above the altar with a depiction of a dove. The north and south aisles projects and have three wide bays. Above the porch in the west angles of the nave is a gallery. The nave ceiling has a Diagrid effect, where the conctrete roof frame is filled with intersecting beams and coloured ceiling boards. This creates a diamond checker-board effect and reduces construction costs.
