Description

This image is reproduced as Plate LXVI in 'The Gardens of England: The Midland and Eastern Counties', edited by Charles Holme, 1908. Guy's Cliffe House was built circa 1751 - 1757, with substantial later additions in the early and late nineteenth century. The house fell into disrepair in the mid-twentieth century, the contents being removed in 1952 before a roof collapse in 1966. However, the kitchen wing and chapel are still in use by the Freemasons.
