Description

This image is reproduced as Plate CXXXIV in 'The Gardens of England: The Northern Counties', edited by Charles Holme, 1911. The original Cistercian Priory of Wykeham was destroyed by fire during the 14th century. The existing country house was built on the site in the mid 18th century, and extended in the 19th century. The Priory remains lie to the east of the house.
