Description

The Elephant and Castle coaching inn is first mentioned in 1765. The inn was rebuilt in 1816 and then in 1898 (shown in this image). During the Second World War the area was extensively damaged by bombing, and the current (2026) Elephant and Castle pub was built in the 1960s.
