Description

The location is incorrectly recorded in the original register of negatives as Stratford Upon Avon.

The house was purchased in 1926 by the London Midland and Scottish Railway and plans were made for its demolition. Public opposition prevented this going ahead and, in 1954, it was sold to a purchaser who oversaw its restoration.
