Description

HMS Buzzard was built in 1887 for the Royal Navy and was the fourth Royal Navy ship to bear this name. She was a 'Nymphe' class sloop employed on the North America and West Indies Station. In 1904 she was converted to a Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve drill ship, based at Blackfriars in London (where this photograph was taken). She was renamed HMS President in 1911 and served under this name until she was broken up in 1921.
