Description

The inn was originally known as The White Boar Inn. The emblem of the white boar was associated with King Richard III. The inn was probably renamed the Blue Boar Inn after Richard III was defeated at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485. The blue boar was associated with the Earl of Oxford, who assisted Henry VII to victory at the Battle of Bosworth.
