Description

The well head is very similar in design to that of St James' Well, which currently stands on Abinger Common and which was designed by William John Evelyn around 1893. It is possible that the well head shown in this image was either an earlier version of the St James' Well, or, perhaps, was also designed by William John Evelyn at another location.
