Description

The Hyde Park Hotel was originally built in 1889 as a gentlemen's club. In 1899 a fire damaged the top three floors and after renovations it reopened in 1902 as Hyde Park Hotel. The Statue of Lord Stathnairn in the foreground was unveiled in 1895 but later removed from this site in 1931. In 1964, after a private purchase, it moved to Liphook in Hampshire.
