Description

The Major Oak, also known as The Queen Oak, is believed to have been standing for anywhere between 800-1100 years. It is the largest oak tree in Britain, however its name derives from Major Heyman Rooke who, in 1790, wrote a book listing the oak trees of Sherwood Forest including The Major Oak.
