Description

This is drawing L33/286 f.72 CLOPHILL. The original item is held by BLARS (Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service). Apply to Lord Lucas for permission to reproduce. Photographer's note: ' 'The Mannor of Clop-hill continued, being a draught of the Township and other adjacent grounds in the Eastern parts of the aforesaid Mannor'. (Edward Laurence, surveyor). Ink and watercolour (grey, blue and yellow) on paper, backed with paper. Folded. Cartouche with geometrical surround. Compass indicator. Edged on four sides with pairs of parallel lines in red. Shows open field lands in Church Field, and enclosures adjoining the river Flit and the village street etc. Field names and acreages, and some names of freeholders given. Miniature elevations of the Church, Manor house, mill, and houses along the village street. Marked 2 1719'.
