Photographer's notes: '...tuyeres (36 in total) which provided the hot air blast to the furnace at a temperature of 1350 degrees centigrade...'. 'Opening in 1979 and the second largest in Europe, its design utilises a German designed bell top system with a Paul Wurth distribution system. The lower levels are influenced by Japanese designed blast furnaces.'
