Description

Photographer's note: 'Carving of an angel, c 1140, once part of a door jamb at Bury St Edmunds Abbey. It was discovered in 1952 during repairs to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury, which had originally been built in 1825 as an armoury, incorporating stone taken from the abbey.'
