Description

Club Bongo, or Club Bongo International, was a reggae club and one of the oldest nightclubs in Middlesbrough. It was set up by Abdillahi Warsama in 1963, after a period as the Kenya Cafe curry house and the Unity Club. Warsama presided over the business until his death in 2016, aged 104. The club closed in 2017. It was due to re-open after a re-fit in 2018, but as of 2023 it remains closed.
