Description

From the late 1920s flashless cordite was produced at R.N.C.F. Holton Heath. Flashless cordite required the addition of picrites, replacing some of nitroglycerine/nitrocellulose. Consequently a picrites factory was built within the complex in 1937, including the ancillary buildings seen here under construction.
