Description

Ashton's Tower and the structures enclosing the forebuilding have been completed by this date.

This illustration was reproduced on page 45 of the 1990 English Heritage guidebook for Portchester Castle. An updated version of the drawings appears to have been created and was reproduced on page 33 of the 2003 guidebook for the site (see IC081/016). This drawing is one of seven phased reconstructions of the castle, shown from the same viewpoint throughout its development. The illustration (or a reproduction of it) is thought to have been displayed in display case 9 at the site.

On the reverse of the sheet are three small ink sketch portraits of women or children.
