Description

The castle is surrounded by a mere, a lake which is comparatively shallow compared to its breadth. The the top of the drawing, south of the castle, is a reconstruction of Bishop Roger's hunting lodge.

The illustration has been published on page 6 of the English Heritage Sherborne Old Castle Guidebook.
