Description

An artefact commonly found in graves of this period is shown worn on the left wrist of the corpse; this small stone plate has been interpreted in this case as an archer's wrist guard, work to protect the arm against the slap of a bowstring. This simplified illustration was created with the intention of it being reproduced at a much-reduced scale; hence the drawing is not very detailed. The illustration was reproduced on page 39 of the 2013 English Heritage guidebook for Stonehenge.
