Description

This illustration was reproduced figure 85 on page 110 of the English Heritage publication entitled 'Iron Age Britain', by Barry Cunliffe, published in 1995. The practice of excarnation is one possible explanation as to why cremation cemeteries in Britain disappear from the archaeological record in the seventh century BCE.
