Cut-away reconstruction illustration showing the Great Tower at Ashby de la Zouch Castle as it may have appeared in about 1480. The near wall has been 'cut away' in the illustration in order to reveal the interior chambers.

Description

The Great Tower or keep was also known as Hastings' Tower. This illustration was reproduced on page 11 of the 2007 English Heritage guidebook for Ashby de la Zouch Castle and Kirby Muxloe Castle, and in subsequent reprint editions of the guidebook.
