The boathouse was destroyed by a fire in 2002. This drawing has been superimposed over a modern photograph of where it once stood to create Figure 39 on page 46 of ‘Places of Health and Amusement: Liverpool's historic parks and gardens’ by Katy Layton-Jones and Robert Lee (2008).
A new boathouse was built in 2010.
