The plan is based on a report produced in 1856 by James Newland. The wash house was demolished circa 1925.
A coloured and annotated copy of this plan is reproduced as Figure 47(a) on page 54 of ‘Building a Better Society: Liverpool's Historic Institutional Buildings’ by Colum Giles (2008).
