Description

One illustration and two reconstructed floorplans created by Allan T Adams for the publication ‘Building a Better Society: Liverpool's Historic Institutional Buildings’ by Colum Giles (2008).

The illustration shows an oblique view of Hartley's Village at the end of the 19th century, after the construction of the Dining Hall, whilst the reconstructed floorplans show the layout of two of the city's earliest wash houses, the first on Upper Frederick Street and the second on Paul Street.
