II* GV 2.
Fine house in ashlar, dated 1740 on rain water head. 2 storeys and attics.
3 dormers, 2 with plain pediments flanking one with a semi-circular pediment.
Good stone modillion eaves cornice. Moulded stone band at 1st floor cills.
Rusticated quoins and ground floor window frames. 5 windows, those on the upper floor having shouldered architraves with pulvinated frieze and pediment, no glazing bars. Doorcase in plain Roman Doric, with pediment and triple keystone over fielded and carved door, 3 steps. Foot scraper. Plain door of 4 panels to the left. Good wrought iron railings on small projecting stone-capped wall attached to house. Interior:- has several fine panelled rooms and a good staircase of the period. 2 of the fireplaces are of exceptionally fine workmanship, in wood, with carved swags, masks, etc.
Garage premises to No 9A,9A,9,10, Sunday School and Nos 12 to 17 (consec) together with Nos 1 to 8 (consec), All Saints' Place form a group.
