SADDLEWORTH HUDDERSFIELD ROAD SD 91 SE (north side) Denshaw 1/158 No. 37 - G.V. II House. "IG 1718" (Gartside) on datestone but with a front elevation of the late C18. Watershot hammer-dressed stone with squared rubble rear and graduated stone slate roof. 3- bay single-depth plan with 2 storeys and C20 garage and kitchen extensions to rear. Quoins. Door in bay 2 with dressed surround. 3, 5 and 2-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows on ground floor (some mullions being C20) and 3, 5 and 4-light on the first floor. Coped gables with kneelers and 2 ridge chimney stacks one of which is rendered and one C20. 4-light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded stone mullion window to rear and two 2-light chamfered mullion windows. Re-used timbers inside point to the former existence of a cruck-framed structure.
