Statue, one of a group of 8 surrounding fountain 200 metres S of house.

Probably c.1835 for Thomas Philip 2nd Earl de Grey. Marble figure on stone plinth, approximately 2.5 metres high in total. Standing female figure in classical dress, with brooding expression, holding a dagger in R hand.

Represents the Tragic Muse.
