An L-shaped house of circa 1800. Two storeys and attics painted brick the ground floor covered with wistaria and other climbing plants. Mansarded slate roof with 3 dormers and parapet. Enriched frieze with swags. Five sashes with glazing bars intact. The first floor windows have Venetian shutters.
Doorcase up 2 steps with engaged Ionic dolumns, enriched frieze, pediments, elliptical fanlight and double doors of 6 moulded and fielded panels. The east and west fronts are splayed and the west front has 2 bays of 3 windows on both ground and first floors. The interior contains C18 marble fireplaces and staircase with 2 twisted balusters to each tread. The house was at one time owned by the writer Joseph Conrad.
