10/129 Sundial, approx. 5 metres S.W. of S. porch, Church of St. Helen

GV II

Sundial, 1686, restored C20th. Sandstone. Of square section, each face inscribed towards the top as follows:

IV 16 WC WC TP 86 EH TT

Below, the shaft is chamfered, with each face grooved vertically. The lower part of the shaft is a restoration and is dated '1932'. The sundial has a plate dated '1707' but appears to be a C20th copy.
