Description

This image was published in the June 1952 edition of Laing's monthly newsletter, Team Spirit. The text accompanying the image describes how the demolition of the chimney stack was carried out. One side of the brick pedestal was cut away and underpinned with baulk timbers and fox wedges. A set of four chains connected to a terminal ring was then attached to the four legs of the underpinning, as seen in this image.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
