Description

The work on the Birmingham to Preston Motorway (M6), between junctions J13 to J16 started in June 1960 and was carried out by John Laing Construction Ltd. Section D was 7 1/2 miles in length between Keele and Barthomley. The photograph is looking north along a slip road on the east side of Section D of the motorway .

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
