Description

Civil engineering works commenced in September 1954 for the construction of a reservoir for the Esso Refinery Company at Fawley. The site of the contract was at the head of Cadland Creek to the north of Fawley Oil Refinery. Construction involved damming the lower end of an existing valley and the construction of a spillway, stilling basin and an outfall.
