Description

The Distillers Company awarded a contract to Laing Management Contracting to build a bottling plant at Basildon. Work on the bottling plant started in 1981 and the site was opened in 1983. It included a bottling hall, vat area for the storing and compounding of gin, a five-storey office block, workers' welfare area and canteen. The factory subsequently closed in 2000.
