Description

The airfield was built in 1943 for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). It was designated as USAAF Station 128 and the 401st Bomb Group were stationed here. After the Second World War, Deenethorpe was used by the RAF and the Royal Observer Corps. In 1963 the land and buildings were sold and the old main runway is now a private air strip.
