Description

Sculptor Humphrey Hopper (1764/5-1844). Monument of Major General Hay, who died 14th April 1814. Free-standing marble sculpture that consists of three figures stood on a panel. The two figures in the foreground are a naked athlete supporting a soldier. The third figure stands to the left, and has a hand raised to his chin. Further in the background, on the right side, is a deep relief of marching soldiers.
