Description

Sculpted by Sir Richard Westmacott (1775-1856). Marble, free-standing sculpture dedicated to Lieutenant General Sir Ralph Abercromby (1734-1801). On top of the oval podium are three male figures: two are in military dress, and one seems to be supporting the other as he comes off a horse. The third figure is lying head-down underneath the rearing horse. At the base of the podium are two sphinx-like statues.
