Description

The Buxton Memorial Fountain was erected to commemorate the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire. Designed by Samural Sanders Teulon. Limestone and granite, with an enamelled roof and mosaic decoration. This fountain was originally located in Westminster's Parliament Square, where it was photographed. It was removed from Parliament Square in 1949, and moved to Victoria Tower Gardens in 1957.
