The plan is in pen and ink and has been tinted and shaded using water colours. Under the plan is written the title and "Scale, 8 feet to an inch". This is clearly not the correct scale (it would mean the door was 40ft wide for example) and 1" to 1ft would be more likely given the size of the drawing, the scale used for other drawings in this job and the plans of the building. The plan was signed by three officers between the 18th February 1868 and the 14th March 1868 and is plan fourteen of the original job. The copying process means some of the grey shading on the original appears brown in the copy.
