Description

The area shown is to west of the castle, between Castle Hill Road, Townwall Street and Maison Dieu Road. The boundary of the Castle owned area is on the left and Shoulder of Mutton Battery would be where the masonry projection is marked on the left of the plan. This is probably the town sports hall. The plan is part of the Cliff Face Stability project which extended along the cliff below the castle (to the east of this plan). This drawing identifies areas of slippage and erosion and also the degree of slope and various structures. It identifies the location of sections A and B.
