The general plan shows Osborne House and the area of the estate between it and Osborne Bay, with the existing sewer, and the new sewer leading to the sewage purification works near Pier Wood. The section of the outfall sewer shows the depth of the pipe below the surface and its vertical drop down to the sewage purification works. Parts of the drawings are hand-tinted. The drawing is drawing number 1. On the front of the item there are the initials CWJ and a date, 28 Oct 1904, an Admiralty stamp: '22 Oct [illegible] 21.11.06', and a later number 4390/9. On the original is written: '(signed) Arthur J. Martin Assoc.M. Inst.C.E.; M.R. San.I. 7 Victoria St; Westminster;'. On the back 'Osborne House' is stamped, and in red ink is written: 'Sewage Disposal Purification works general plan section 7 outfall sewer Sunprinted from negative tracings borrowed form the Office of Works informally. 21.11.06'
