Description

The inscription is in Latin and appears to record the birth of Thomas Bodenham, son of Roger Bodenham, born on 18th October 1589. The chapel was built for the Bodenham family, and the inscription was probably found during restorations to the chapel in 1928 by HM Office of Works. There is a small amendment on the sheet recording the name of the chapel in ink.
